Pinnacle
announces the Pinnacle Pro-ONE RTDV
Three
requests were made from a select dealer council after showing them a pre-release
Pro-ONE version 1.0. They were
support for Windows 2000 and XP, real-time DV output and real-time color
correction. Pinnacle addressed the
issue of Windows 2000 and XP with the release of version 1.5.
However, now with Pro-ONE RTDV and version 2.0 software, we answer the
other two.
Pro-ONE
RTDV adds a 3rd codec allowing a real-time DV output at all times.
What's more, unlike the competition, it doesn't require a machine with
significant horsepower. Regardless
of the combination of effects you do (including Hollywood FX), the Pro-ONE RTDV
will output to DV on the minimum system requirement machine!
As long as it's real-time in the Pro-ONE, it's real-time to DV. In this
case, it is only a 1GHz P3 with sufficient memory and storage.
I can tell you from personal experience that it is a very cool thing to
watch HFX, Slomo's, Image Correction and a Title
happening all at the same time on your DV camera.
In fact, I did it on a system that is below the minimum system
requirements - a lowly 700MHz P3.
Real-time
color manipulation is becoming more important to videographers and again the
Pro-ONE RTDV delivers. The new
Color Adjust filter allows you to remove color casts, add in unique color,
balance your colors, or make a classic sepia tone.
Again, all of this is real-time on all outputs including DV.
So, make your color adjustments and see them on a DV deck and/or your
NTSC/PAL monitor - not your computer screen.
What's more, the new Color Adjust filter takes advantage of the great
interface of the Pro-ONE, so it's very easy to use.
In addition, we have increased the number of powerful filters to 20.
New additions include:
Scene Cutter
Motion Tracker
Lens Flare
Magnifier
Magic Shape and Multiform PIP
In
addition we have improved some old favorites like the Image Stabilization
filter and the Page Peel and Page Curl.
Need
more? We added the TurboMPEG export
function of the DV500 to version 2.0 software, so now
we see a 2½ to 3x performance increase in MPEG2 export. As
CPU's get faster, so will we. I'm
seeing up to 26FPS on export which is just shy of real-time. I
can't wait to try it on a 2.5GHz Xeon!
Version 2.0 of the software will also be available for Pro-ONE customers and will all the features minus the real-time DV out will be available on Pro-ONE systems as well.
