JVC announced several very important products at the Wedding and Event Video Expo (WEVA) in Las Vegas, August 26-29.  The GY-DV5000U Professional DV camcorder is a major upgrade to the enormously popular GY-DV500U camcorder and features standard and Mini-DV tape handling, 12-bit A/D and much more.

Also announced were two companion VTRs, the BR-DV3000U and BR-DV6000U.  The 3000 is a robust industrial player/recorder compatible with standard and Mini-DV tapes, with RS-422 and firewire.  The 6000 is an advanced version that adds component I/O, front panel LCD, expandable network pack and more.

GY-DV5000U Professional DV Camcorder Introduction

JVC GY-DV5000U CamcorderWe are extremely pleased and excited to introduce our next-generation Professional DV Camcorder, the GY-DV5000U -- a follow-up to our enormously popular GY-DV500U.  We redesigned the camera from the ground up keeping same philosophy that enabled over 10,000 users to "Do More" and to "Do It Better, for Less."

The GY-DV5000U features an all-new double tension "drop-in" tape mechanism and accepts both Standard and Mini-DV cassettes.  And our exclusive 12-bit A/D gives it picture performance that puts it in the league of the most expensive production cameras on the market today.
